We built a wood fired experimental kiln, based on a Bourry box design. On Jan 23rd, 2021, we test fired to cone 10 in 26 hours. We loaded with refire work and my first round of sculptural forms, lamp bases and functional ware (hey, if yer gonna use a cord of firewood, might as well see what you can get) The bottom was underfired, but overall good results and the kiln didn’t fall in on itself. Many lessons for future firings, looking forward to the next!!
